Autumns End: The Horror | DVD and Digital

Thank you for considering supporting self-distributed films on physical media. As an independent filmmaker, it is important to me that my work lives beyond the internet. Your support helps in this mission.

“Autumn’s End: The Horror” was shot over the course of three years in Michigan and Ohio. “The Horror” was a brainchild of Moondog Media, a small production company founded by Raymond Creamer, Kyle Mattocks, and myself in 2012. We believed that quality and budget were not mutually exclusive.

The film you are about to watch was filmed in three acts, over three years, allowing the actors to age in real time without the help of makeup. This course of action also allowed us time to edit the sequences we had shot and fix any issues as this was everyones first feature film. The film was rewritten multiple times at each step to find the heart of the story. The winter sequence in the film was the only sequence that was not rewritten throughout this process, and is completely as it was intended from the first day we started thinking about the film.

“The Horror” was made as a challenge to the genre, what happens next? What happens when you have to go back to your life and deal with your experiences. We finished principal photography of the film on October 26, 2014 and the film premiered at the Chinese Theatre on Hollywood Blvd in the fall of 2016 as part of the Dances With Films festival. The goal was always to have this film on physical media for filmmakers and lovers of cinema to see how you actually get a film across the finish line. I hope you enjoy the film and I hope it inspires you to make your own film.
